RESEARCH TRENDS ON RESIDENTS’ PARTICIPATION IN AGRITOURISM DEVELOPMENT FROM 2009-2023
Abstract
Agritourism opens doors for local residents to actively engage in tourism-related business ventures, leading to skill enhancement, knowledge expansion, and an improved quality of life. This research conducted a comprehensive and systematic examination of the theoretical and practical aspects concerning the involvement of local people in agritourism development. The study drew upon 85 reputable scientific articles published between 2009 and 2023, utilizing the content analysis method to extract valuable insights. The literature review revealed several prominent themes, encompassing the following: Human capital (Experience, education, personality traits); Physical capital (agricultural land area, income, finance, Internet availability); Social capital (membership of tourism associations/organizations), Perceived benefits, Infrastructure and geography, Government/local support policies. By analyzing research trends and identifying gaps in the current body of knowledge regarding local people's involvement in agritourism development, this article establishes a foundation for further studies. It sheds light on both theoretical frameworks and practical applications, thereby fostering the progression of knowledge in this field.
